New photographs

Gerbera I love flower photography, especially macros of fowers. I don’t have a macro lens yet, so I’m just having to make do with my kit lens. But the photos do turn out pretty good even if it’s not a real macro lens :) I’m planning to buy the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens. I was planning to buy it in a couple of weeks, cause I’m having some money coming in, but I don’t think I can afford it after all… But there’s no harm in pracitcing with my kit lens for now, so after I went to the gym yesterday I decided to stop by the flower shop on my way home, to see if they had any nice flowers. I found a yellow and red Gerbera and bought it to practice taking flower shots :) I’m pretty happy with the way they turned out, and I’m thinking of making a new layout with them. Not quite yet though, need to set up more of the site and get bored with this layout first.

Snow crystals And today, as the lovely Sunday it is, I went for a walk in the sunshine and took some photos of the cold weather and snow. I have realized that I love Sundays. They are so calm, no shops are open, only cafés, there are no parties to go to, just spend the day relaxing :) I might not be as positive about Sundays if it hadn’t been for the fact that the past three Sundays have had really great sunny weather though  ;)

I’ve also made a new quilt layout! I’m really happy with it, it’s the first time I’ve made such an effort into the layout for my quilt. I’ve usually just had a small pop up window and used one of the free backgrounds offered at the Q*bee. But this time I decided to make a “real” layout  I also think I need to find some new smilies, they are really cute, but it’s too difficult to see the different emotions in them…  :dissapoint:

Good Samaritan

There was a guy who found a camera at the bottom of a river, it had been lying there for months, so the camera was completely destroyed. But the memorycard was intact and had 244 undamaged photos on it. He wanted to reunite the photographer with the pictures, so he started a blog in hopes of finding the owners. And can you believe it, only eight days later he found them! You can read the whole story on the blog he created Basin Found a Camera. I just thought it was such an amazing story, I had to share it with you :)
Madonna
In other news, guess what I am doing July 30th!!! No, that’s not it! I’m going to see Madonna in concert!! I’ve been trying to get tickets for the past 45 minutes, and it just came through  I’m not really the biggest Madonna fan, but I like her, and she really is an icon, she’s Madonna! And I think this is my only chance of seeing her, so I convinced my mom to go with me, and when I told her all this she said, “well, you really do have some pretty good points…” So she decided to come with me :D
