Actually 8 or 9 days if you count today to be exact. The first three days was easy to find a subject to photograph, the last 5 have been pretty difficult, and I’m not particularly happy with most of the shots. But I still have 352 shots to improve, so no worries
This shot (above) is from yesterday and is of my necklace, it’s really beautiful and vintage looking, but sadly it’s a new one I just bought from H&M a couple of weeks ago.
The shot below is my favorite so far, it’s from Sunday, day 7. I was struggling to get some decent water drop shots, and this was actually the first shot I took before remembering I should reduce the aperture to ensure a large depth of field and sharp drops. However, the shallow depth of field in this one is what I think makes it so great, I love the softness and silky feel of the water against the sharp drop. The reason I was struggling so bad to get a decent shot was because my timing was completely off, I took about 500 shots and 400 of them were of just still water. I can’t remember timing being this difficult the last time I took shots like these, but I’m blaming it on the fact that it was late Sunday and I was pretty tired from the night before. So, I will have to do more water drop shots on a day when I’m more energized

I also think it might be time for a layout change. This layout has been up for almost a year, and it’s too springy for the season
But I do love it, and I’m pretty proud of it, so it’ll have to wait until I feel a burst of creativity.
So, Valentine’s Day is coming up… Are you wondering if I have plans? For the very first time ever (even including whenever I had a boyfriend) I have a date for Valentine’s Day. Yes, it’s such a cliché that it almost makes me sick, haha
But wait for it, the cliché actually gets worse, we’re going to the movies and seeing *drum roll* Valentine’s Day! And it was actually his idea to see that movie on that day. I know I should be all giddy and happy, but I think I’ve just lived too long, seen too much and am too heartbroken bitter at the moment. Plus I’m not really that interested in the guy, but hey, at least I have a date for Valentine’s Day and I get popcorn
Tell me, how do you plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Do you have a date? Will you spend it with good friends instead?

The popcorn is...

I always love to see your water drop shots — they’re always spectacular! And I quite agree — the softness contrasts so well with the sharpness of the water drop. I’ve been curious as to how you get the drop of water? From a syringe, or just something infinitely more simple?
Even though I’m in a relationship, I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. I could if I wanted to, but I don’t. *shrug* I don’t begrudge other people from celebrating though! I hope you enjoy the movie too.

I love your pictures, they are absolutely gorgeous!
I am actually celebrating Valentine’s Day for the first time this year with my boyfriend! We’re just going to go out for dinner and watch a movie afterwards.
Hope you enjoy the movie at least!

Your photos are amazing! I absolutely love them! That is so sweet that you went to see Valentine’s Day. I don’t think my husband would ever agree to that, let alone suggest it! We just had a quiet evening which was nice and what we both wanted.
